We are so grateful for everyone's help this weekend during the Greater Cincinnati Weimaraner Club's AKC Scent Work Trials. An amazing and successful weekend with a lot of qualifications and several High In Trial Ribbons given out. We even awarded our first High Combined Division Ribbon.

PINK's sister, Rosey
With the threat of a possible "wash out" of rain, Brood X Cicada emergence, and an extremely large entry, the GCWC members, volunteers, and judges did a phenomenal job, and we appreciate each and every one of them,
, Rosey and Cooper came away with some major accomplishments:
Rosey earned a new title in Scent Work Container Excellent with a 4th place finish; two first place finishes in Interior Excellent; and two qualifications, including a first place finish in Exterior Excellent.

Cooper earned his Scent Work Handler Discrimination Novice title, his Scent Work Interior Excellent title with a second place finish; and, a leg towards his Exterior Excellent title.

As you can tell from the photo, we are all exhausted and still have a lot of clean up to do, but enjoyed spending our weekend with so many great people and their dogs, doing what they love to do!

PINK's sister, Rosey
Rosey has two new element title ribbons coming her way similar to the one in the picture, for finishing her Advanced Interior and Advanced Container titles. There were a lot of successful dogs earning their new titles this weekend....
t was an "o-dark-thirty" drive and a rainy, cold and blustery day at the Columbus All-Breed Training Club's inaugural AKC Scent Work Trials, but
Anita Ambani
and her crew, including the awesome judge
Debbie Douglas Thurston
These trials take so much more work behind the scene than people may think, so a huge THANK YOU to the CABTC for taking the plunge!
Unfortunately, Cooper and I need to work on his Advanced Buried skills and we did not qualify in either of our runs, but he was a good boy.

Rosey, on the other hand, was three for four, with two first place finishes in Advanced Interior (1st out of 14 and 15 in her classes), and a third place (3rd out of 11) in Advanced Container, earning her two new element titles!

PINK'S sister, ROSIE
Cooper, Rosey and I spent this weekend in the cold, rain/snow mix at the Mid-Kentucky Kennel Club's Scent Work Trials, who did an amazing job, despite the yucky conditions.

Ketchy, the RV, was also awesome, keeping us warm and dry, when we weren't searching.
Overall, great success and/or learning opportunities.
Rosey rocked the weekend, even with some slight hesitation on my part, just to make sure. On Saturday, she earned four out of four qualifications and three placements, and finished her Exteriors Advanced title. On Sunday, she was three out of four, placing in the three classes she qualified in, finishing her Buried Novice and Scent Work Novice Titles and almost qualified in her first Exterior Excellent search.
Cooper struggled on Saturday with one out of four, but earned a qual in Exteriors Excellent, which was huge with all of the barn smells. On Sunday, I wrecked the Exteriors Excellent streak with my own mistake, but he qualified in Buried Advanced, and placed 2nd in Interiors Excellent out of 13! So, two out of four and I was thrilled.
Ketchy handled really well in the snowy mix. We took it slow, but no slipping, so happy about that too.
